This novel approach hence serves as an exciting, revolutionary, scientific discipline and has emerged as a dominant economic sector globally. Biotechnology deals with integral applications of gene technology, tissue culture, enzymology, immuno technology, metabolic engineering, microbiology, agriculture, pharmaceutical technology, commercialization of molecular biotechnology and process engineering techniques in manufacturing and service industries. The Director Shri Shreedhar G. Bhat has acquired long experience in Molecular biology and Plant Tissue Culture. Within a limited period ???dedicated team??? of SBL has trained many students of various steams like B.Sc., M.Sc., B.E, B. Tech, M.Tech, B. Pharm from different colleges and universities in various aspects of Biotechnology. The laboratory facilities have been used by the M.Phil candidates to carry out their projects/dissertation work at SBL. SBL has been recognized by ???Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS)??? as a Biotech Industry and has created a benchmark by synthesizing its own products.
